On Mount Carmel, the prophet Elijah calls Israel to a moment of decision in 1 Kings 18, asking, “How long will you waver between two opinions?” In a dramatic showdown with the prophets of Baal, two altars are prepared, but only the true God answers with fire. While Baal’s prophets strive in vain, Elijah offers a simple, faith-filled prayer, and God responds powerfully by sending fire from heaven that consumes the sacrifice, the altar, and even the water surrounding it.

This message reminds us that God is not revealed through performance or noise, but through His power and presence. Just as Israel was called to choose, we are challenged to examine where our allegiance lies. The same God who answered by fire is still able to reveal Himself today and calls hearts back to Him, proving that He alone is Lord.
