WATERFORD COMMUNITY CHURCH - 11:00am SUNDAY WORSHIP

Every Church Has A Story

Including Waterford Community Church.  Way back in the 1860's two brothers decided that the Village of Waterford needed a church, so they went door-to-door soliciting donations.  In 1869 they built a building with the funds gathered, and it still stands today.

We've moved on from that building, but not from the original commitment to be a church for Waterford.  For that reason, we are constantly looking for ways that we can encourage and support our local community.

Today WCC is a vibrant and dynamic group of people who band together to pursue faith and to live it out by making a positive difference wherever we happen to find ourselves.

Our Vision

Our vision is helping people Experience God, Engage in Community, and Excel in Mission.

But realize that a vision doesn't mean much unless there is some way to make it happen.  We choose to use the early church in the book of Acts as both our inspiration and our model as we commit to the following practices to help us realize our vision.

Gather Together

If there was a word that marked the early church, it would be “togetherness." They met together, ate together, prayed together, and became a powerful movement of God — together. So, we want to invite you to gather together with us.

Coming to church matters, so we make it a priority. We come to get refueled to live out our faith, but we also come to encourage others who are on the journey with us. We’re challenging you to be intentional and attend a Sunday service, discovery class, and small group meeting.

Acts 2:42-44, Acts 5:12

GROW Together

When Jesus invites us to follow Him, He offers to change and transform us. But that doesn’t happen all at once, it’s a continual process that involves effort and obedience on our part. Our desire at WCC is to provide you the means and the tools needed to grow in your faith, and that you will commit to making growth a key value in your life. Explore our growth opportunities like Life Classes, Small Groups, and our weekly Growth Guide.

Acts 2:42

GIVE Together

Giving of ourselves by serving and being generous is a core value at WCC. The church is at its best when its people are committed to serving one another and being generous in this world. As God works in us, He equips us, energizes us, provides for us, and enables us to help those around us. It’s one of the ways we get to partner with Him.

While we all come to church with needs, we also come to church with abilities, resources and experiences that can be used to meet the needs of others. So we want to encourage you to TEAM UP to be a part of a volunteer ministry and to respond to what Jesus Christ has done in giving of Himself by giving ourselves! It’s how the church moves forward, but it’s also another way that you can and will grow!

Acts 4:32-37

Go Together

We can gather together, grow together, and serve together but if we are going to be a church for our community, we must go together.  That's why we are engaged both with ministries in our community (like Oakland Hope), but also with community organizations (like Grayson School). While it may sound cliche', we want to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

We also want to invite you to take steps to share your faith and we want to partner with you in your efforts. Let’s build friendships with others in the community, invite them to WCC, learn how to share the story of our faith, and engage in conversations wherever you can!

Acts 4:31, 5:14

Pray Together

Our goal is not to see what we can do for God, but for God to do big things through us.  We want to see things happen in our church and community that can only be "God things!"  We invite you to join us in our various prayer events, or to pray along with our weekly prayer newsletter.
